Service 02
LiveKit Voice Agent Development
LiveKit Agents builds with WebRTC and SIP: self-hosted or LiveKit Cloud, telephony wired in, and per-minute costs a fraction of the managed voice platforms.
What this service covers
LiveKit is what teams move to when a managed voice platform stops fitting: the per-minute price at volume, a model or voice the platform will not let you use, or a data-residency requirement that a shared vendor cannot meet. It gives you the real-time transport, the agent framework and SIP telephony, and it hands you back the control that managed platforms trade away.
It also hands you back the work. LiveKit Agents is a framework, not a product. You own worker deployment and scaling, turn-detection tuning, the SIP trunk configuration, observability, and the failure paths that a managed platform quietly handled for you. That is the actual cost of the migration, and it is the part quotes tend to leave out.
I build LiveKit agents end to end: the agent worker, the room and participant lifecycle, SIP inbound and outbound calling, tool calling into your existing systems, and deployment on your own infrastructure or LiveKit Cloud. If you are coming from Vapi or Retell I start by measuring what you have, so the rebuild is judged against real numbers instead of hope. I compare the four main stacks in Vapi vs Retell vs LiveKit vs Pipecat.
What you get
- LiveKit Agents worker built, deployed and autoscaling on your infrastructure
- WebRTC in-app voice, SIP inbound and outbound calling, or both
- Turn detection and interruption handling tuned against your own call recordings
- Tool calling wired into your CRM, database or internal APIs
- Observability: per-turn latency, call transcripts, failure and drop-off tracking
- A cost model comparing your current per-minute spend against the LiveKit build
How I work
Four stages, and you always know which one you are in
The same process whether the engagement runs two weeks or a year.
Understand the business
I ask product-level questions before quoting, so the work is scoped against what the business needs, not just the ticket as written.
Architecture in writing
You get the proposed architecture in writing before any code is committed. Disagreements happen on the document, where they are cheap.
Delivery in milestones
Work ships in milestones with regular updates, so you always know what has landed and what is next.
Documented handoff
Code is documented and handed off cleanly. Your future engineers should not have to reverse-engineer my decisions.
Direct Project Enquiry
Tell me what you are building
Share what you are building and where it is stuck. If a managed platform already solves it, I will say so. I review every enquiry personally and reply within about four hours.
- 1Send your project goal and the services you think you need.
- 2I review the context and whether I am the right fit.
- 3You get a direct reply with a practical next step.
International projects welcome
I work in English by email, video call or through Upwork, from GMT+7 with overlap hours for US and EU teams.
