Challenge
Build and run a social platform that stays responsive as the user base grows into the tens of thousands.
My role
End-to-end full-stack build covering frontend, backend, real-time features and cloud infrastructure.

60,000 registered users in production.
A social platform is mostly a read-heavy system with unpredictable write spikes, and the parts that break first are the feed and anything real-time. This was an end-to-end build: frontend, backend, the real-time layer and the cloud infrastructure underneath.
The work that mattered at scale was unglamorous. Feed queries needed indexing and caching shaped around how people actually browse rather than how the schema was drawn. Real-time features needed connection handling that degraded gracefully instead of failing loudly. Media handling needed to move off the request path.
Growth to 60,000 registered users happened while the platform stayed in production, so changes shipped incrementally against live traffic rather than in a rewrite.
