Challenge
Give hundreds of independent properties one system for rates and availability, with pricing changes that propagate fast enough to matter.
My role
Full-stack platform work across the property management system and its pricing engine.
Evidence
600+ hotels on the platform, with 5-minute pricing updates.
Hotel pricing is time-sensitive in a way most SaaS is not. A rate that updates overnight is worthless when occupancy and competitor pricing move during the day, so the target was propagating pricing changes across the platform on a five-minute cycle.
The system serves more than 600 properties, which makes it a multi-tenant problem before it is a pricing problem. Each property needs isolated data and its own rate rules, while the pricing engine runs across all of them on a schedule without one property's workload starving another's.
My work spanned the platform and that pricing engine, including the data model for rates and availability and the scheduling that keeps the five-minute cycle honest as the number of properties grows.
